We are located in the Oregon City area, but we shoot everythwhere. Our membership is open to anyone who enjoys getting out, taking pictures and working behind the camera: amateur to professional, point-and-shoots to SLRs, film and digital. We meet regularly on the third Monday of each month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Abernethy Grange on Harley Avenue in Oregon City. Mark your calendar! As a club, we want to focus (pun intended) on the interests, needs, and talents of our members. Some of the programs we have enjoyed include:
"Keeping it Clean" (how to clean your camera)
"Print Your Own Pics" (basics using photo editing software to print your own photos )
Various photo techniques (Macro, Landscape, Portrait, etc.)
"What's in Your Pack?" (must-have items to have in your bag)
Essential Survival Gear to bring on the road with you
How to create sun and light stars
IR Photography Basics
...and so much more!
We have a photo shoot almost monthly to learn and practice our techniques. Some of the locations we have been to include Silver Falls area, Pearl District in Portland, local auto shows, various locations in the Columbia Gorge (on both sides of the river), the Palouse area of Washington, various parts of the Oregon Coast (Bandon, Astoria, etc.). As long as we can take our cameras (and maybe a tripod), we go.
If you were to become a member, what would you like to learn or have demonstrated? Where would you like to go? We'd love to hear what you'd like to do as part of our club. We hope you will come to one of our meetings or join us on an outing.
Please check out our public Facebook page for information about what we're doing and what we've done.
